At Champion Technique, we are committed to creating a safe, encouraging environment where athletes can grow, learn, and compete with confidence. This Behavior and Conduct Policy outlines the expectations for parents, guardians, athletes, and spectators at all Champion Technique activities.

4. Expectations for Parents and Guardians
Parents/guardians play a crucial role in building a positive environment. We ask that you:
- Support coaches’ decisions regarding training, lane assignments, meet entries, and event selection
- Do not coach over the coach from the sidelines, bleachers, or pool deck
- Communicate respectfully with staff; disagreements should be handled privately and professionally
- Avoid negative comments about other athletes, parents, coaches, or officials
- Never confront officials, opposing coaches, or athletes during or immediately after events
- Follow all facility rules, including designated viewing areas and no-deck policies if applicable
Champion Technique maintains a strict no-tolerance policy on disruptive sideline behavior. Yelling at officials, berating coaches, or creating hostility at events may result in removal from the facility and further action.
5. Social Media and Online Conduct
In today’s connected world, online behavior impacts real-world relationships and safety. The following rules apply:
- Parents and athletes must not post photos or videos of any athlete who is not their own child without obtaining clear permission from that athlete’s parent/guardian.
- Do not share private information (such as personal contact details, health information, or financial information) about other families, athletes, or staff.
- Do not post negative, hostile, or defamatory content about Champion Technique, its staff, athletes, or families.
- Locker rooms and restrooms are strictly no recording zones.
- Any team-related group chats or online communities should be used responsibly and respectfully.
Violations of these guidelines may result in disciplinary actions, including restricted participation, suspension, or dismissal from the program.
6. Safety and Facility Conduct
Safety is our top priority. All participants must:
- Follow posted pool rules and staff instructions
- Use equipment responsibly
- Maintain appropriate behavior in locker rooms and common areas
- Respect property belonging to the facility, Champion Technique, and other participants
Champion Technique is prohibited from swimming during thunderstorms or when lightning is detected within 25 miles, in accordance with our insurance requirements. Athletes and families must respect cancellations or delays made for safety reasons.
7. Attendance, Punctuality, and Readiness
- Athletes should arrive on time and ready to swim or train at the scheduled start time.
- Chronic lateness or absence without communication may affect lane assignments, meet entries, and continued participation.
- Parents are responsible for timely drop-off and pick-up, especially for younger athletes.
8. Reporting Concerns
We encourage open communication. If you witness or experience behavior that violates this policy:
Champion Technique will review each concern and respond appropriately.
9. Disciplinary Process
Champion Technique may use the following progression for behavior or conduct issues:
- Verbal Warning – Coach or staff discusses the issue with the athlete and/or parent.
- Written Warning – Formal documentation of the issue and expectations moving forward.
- Suspension – Temporary removal from practices, meets, or lessons.
